Mathangi leads people-centered research and training at Olmsted County, Minnesota to evaluate and redesign family intervention programs that prevent abuse against children. She provides crisis intervention for victims of sexual assault and consults with organization on gender-based violence. Previously, she worked as the Associate Director for Waste Ventures India and led efforts to provide composting and recycling services to 20,000+ households, 10+ corporates and mobilized citizens to create a zero-waste model village in Hyderabad.
Mathangi holds a graduate degree in public administration, focusing on international development, from Harvard Kennedy School and an MBA from the Indian School of Business.
