Abel Hailegiorgis is the founder and CEO of Bamboo Labs, an award-winning social enterprise that promotes affordable, accessible, and sustainable transport mobility by utilizing renewable resources, to create a positive environmental impact. Based in Ethiopia, Bamboo labs is producing wheelchairs and bicycles made out of bamboo for the local and export market. Abel is a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumni and received several recognitions and awards for his innovative products.
