Nishi Kant Dixit is a development professional with fourteen years of experience of working in the area of rural livelihoods. The focus of his work is on organizing the poorest of the poor communities, especially rural women to establish social businesses and livelihoods models leading to enhancement of their income. He believes that sustainable community development ultimately leads to sustainable development of the nation. During most of his professional career, he has lived and worked among the community in villages and blocks of poor pockets of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh states of India. He believes that the poor are not recipients of services but it is their right in this unequal world to live a life of dignity and self-respect.
