Resilient Small-Scale Fisheries Leadership Accelerator 2023 Participant
Nazarena is the coordinator of the Shark Project, Dangerous or Endangered?, since 2022 at Mar Azul Uruguayo, which generates and disseminates knowledge of the species of shark populations and their status in Uruguay as a pillar to ensure their conservation and effective management. She has been working with artisanal fishing communities for more than 7 years. Nazarena has a degree in Environmental Management (Universidad de la República Uruguay), with an orientation in fishing resources and aquaculture. She is currently carrying out her thesis in Marine Coastal Planning with a focus on artisanal fisheries in Uruguay, within the Master's Degree in Integrated Coastal Management of the Southern Cone. Nazarena has received as a merit the postgraduate scholarship from the Agency for Research and Innovation.
