María del Pilar is a passionate about social transformation. That explains why she undertook a quest to provide solutions to the complex problematic of indigenous artisan communities. As Founder and CEO of Awana Taller, she promotes processes aimed at making traditional indigenous artisan craft visible, and to transform art into a tool to build social change. She is an arts undergrad from Universidad de los Andes, has a degree in Organizations, Social Responsibility and Development and a Masters in interdisciplinary studies on development.
