Resilient Small-Scale Fisheries Leadership Accelerator 2023 Participant
Maria is an advisor on artisanal fishing at INDESPA, and previously served as National Head of the Artisanal Fishing Department of Sernapesca, supporting and facilitating compliance with regulations, training users of the sector throughout the territory (more than 100,000 users). Maria Alejandra was Executive Director of the Fund for the Promotion of Artisanal Fishing, where she managed the sustainable development of the artisanal fishing sector, as well as the efforts of the organizations of artisanal fishermen to improve the living and working conditions and sustainability of the environment. Maria Alejandra has a Master's degree in Environmental Management (Universidad de Valparaíso), Fisheries Engineer (PUCV), Bachelor of Fisheries Science (PUCV), and a Diploma in Environmental Impact (European University of the Atlantic).
