Flora is a Fisheries graduate and has been working in the Fisheries sector since 2003, from private industries to the development sector. She has extensive knowledge of post-harvest fisheries, quality assurance, research and development, fisheries management, and community engagement. She is currently working as Director for Program Implementation and Innovative Finance at Rare Philippines and currently finished her MS in Innovation and Business at the Asian Institute of Management. She is dedicated to conserving coastal ecosystems and initiating innovations to support marine biodiversity. She empowers coastal communities in the Philippines through working closely and co-developing solutions with them along with government and non-government partners to sustain livelihood and provide better alternatives. As an advocate for establishing sustainable coastal communities, she likes to focus her energy on incorporating climate knowledge, resource management, and fisheries development programs to help communities through social inclusion and building their capabilities.
