Felipe Spath

Global Fellow
Felipe is the Founder of three social enterprises. The first, SOLE Colombia, has worked with more than 6,000 students in rural Colombia to improve learning aptitudes by emphasizing self-organized online learning. The second, Th1nk, a design thinking lab for impact, works with organizations providing tools to connect purpose and action. The third, La Juanita Finca Verde, aims to create a vibrant Colombian countryside by encouraging sustainable farming practices and creating dialogue through traveling cinemas and TEDx events. He was VP of Operations for BioLite Energy in Kenya after finalizing his Acumen Global Fellowship placement with BioLite. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Felipe was International Operations Officer for Archie’s, a restaurant chain with operations in Colombia, Ecuador and United States. Felipe holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Felipe es Fellow de Acumen y es fundador de múltiples emprendimientos sociales entre los que se encuentran: La Juanita Finca Verde que busca crear un campo vibrante promoviendo prácticas agrícolas sostenibles y creando diálogo campo - ciudad a través de un eco-hotel, un cine itinerante, y eventos TEDx; Café EntreVolcanes que busca generar un campo viable para jóvenes caficultores del Tolima; SOLE Colombia que ha permitido el mejoramiento de aptitudes de aprendizaje para 6,000 estudiantes en zonas rurales de Colombia; y Th1nk que trabaja con organizaciones facilitando talleres de design thinking y pensamiento visual, generando rutas viables que potencialicen el impacto social. Felipe fue gerente de operaciones para Archie´s, una cadena de restaurantes en Colombia, Ecuador y Estados Unidos, y dirigió las operaciones de BioLite, una empresa de energías alternativas, en África del Este. Felipe es antropólogo de la Universidad de los Andes y fue profesor de la Universidad De La Sabana y la Universidad del Rosario.
