Clara is the founder and managing director of Claphijo Enterprise dealing with dehydration of fruits and vegetables using solar energy dryer, a simple and low cost technology easily made by local technicians using free energy of the sun. Claphijo fabricates dryers and sells to farmers, Clara trains farmer groups good processing practices, and has trained farmers in five regions in Tanzania as well as conducted a training of trainers (TOT) in Namibia. Her dream is to address post-harvest losses, create employment, improve the lifestyle of farmers, and minimize urban migration especially amongst youth.
