Dr. Bola Tafawa is the General Manager, Health at Equity Group Foundation and a Director at Equity Afia Limited. Previously Dr. Bola managed several health initiatives for corporates, government and academic institutions as well as non-governmental, academic and community-based organizations in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and the United States. Her entrepreneurial expertise includes business model design and reengineering, building and scaling health systems, franchising, developing costing and customer segmentation algorithms, and coordinating supply chain management. Her health expertise includes social determinants of health, strengthening health systems, behavioural change communications, research methods and program design, management and evaluation. Dr. Bola has a Doctoral Degree in Social Epidemiology and Health Communications from Harvard School of Public Health and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan. She is fluent in English, Yoruba and American Sign Language.
