Abubaker Musuuza
Abu is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Village Energy Limited a social enterprise that is building a network of rural solar shops that deliver quality products and ensure effective access to skilled solar technicians, repairs and solar parts. Village Energy runs a rural solar academy that is training youth in technical and entrepreneurship skills to explore income opportunities in the growing solar industry. Village Energy has reduced response time to customer repair needs from an industry average of 8-12 weeks to 48 hours. A graduate of Makerere University Kampala, Abu has worked in the social entrepreneurship space for 12 years building and supporting social enterprises across East Africa. Prior to Village Energy Abu was the East Africa Program Manager for Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. Abu is an Ashoka Fellow and Echoing Green Fellow.
