Abbas is a 2013 Acumen Global Fellow. Prior to joining the fellowship, Abbas worked as a Software Engineer at Apple and Google. Abbas has a Bachelor’s in computer science from San Jose State University and a Masters in International Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins University. Abbas currently runs Startup Workshop, a technology consulting firm in Pakistan that runs several startups including Vidpk, Pakistan's biggest video sharing website.
